From the foggy redwoods of Crescent City to the desert border of El Centro, and lots of cities big and small in between, the American Lung Association in California’s Center for Tobacco Policy & Organizing has provided countless trainings for local tobacco control coalitions.
And guess what? It’s free.
Our trainings cover topics like public speaking, the strategy chart, and coalition building. In addition, we have a few new trainings to offer this year:
Social Media – If you’re ready to use social media in your campaign, this is the training for your coalition members. This is not a “social media 101” training. We take it to the next level. Our Using Social Media Strategically in your Campaign document looks at social media through each phase of a campaign and is the basis of an interactive session about how and why to use different social media outlets in each phase.
Remote Training – If you don’t have enough coalition members to hold a regular training or you only want to train a couple key coalition leadership members, then this might be the option for you. We can do a short remote trainings via Google Hangout (don’t worry we’ll help you figure out the technology). Check out our blog post about a recent Hangout we did.
Using SOTC – The American Lung Association in California’s State of Tobacco Control 2013 report came out earlier this month. If your coalition is ready to take the grades to the next level and work to improve your county’s grades, then we offer a training to help you plan your next steps.
