ABC’s of Isaiah

The Center is on a roll with new staff and interns. Meet Isaiah, our newest intern. He will be working with Julissa and Marlene on all things advocacy related. Take a look at his ABC’s to learn a little more about him!

A is for Area Code: 208

B is for Breakfast. What did you have for breakfast today? I don’t normally eat breakfast, so coffee.

C is for Calling. What do you consider your calling to be? To change the world and help those disadvantaged and vulnerable.

D is for Dogs.  Do you have any?  Yes, a mini Australian Shepherd named Gatsby.

E is for Energy.  What do you do when you need more energy? Drink coffee or tea.

F is for Fun.  What do you like to do for fun? Anything outdoors, such as running, backpacking, or surfing.

G is for Greatest Accomplishment.  What is yours?  Being the first person in my family to graduate from college.

H is for Hometown.  Where are you from? I was born in Boise, Idaho.

I is for interesting: Name on interesting fact about yourself. I was originally a graphics design major, and still draw occasionally.

 J is for Job Title. What is yours? Advocacy Intern

K is for Kids. Do you have any? No, but I consider Gatsby my child.

L is for Learning.  What have you learned working at the American Lung Association thus far?  There is a lot of information, and a lot of work to be done.

M is for Millions.  What would you do if you had a million dollars? I would invest, travel, and start my own organization/Foundation.  And maybe buy new clothes.

N is for Need.  What is one thing you need or couldn’t live without? Books.

O is for Occupation.  What was your occupation before coming to the American Lung Association?  I am currently employed as the Event Operations Specialist for AIDS Walk Los Angeles.

P is for Pet Peeve.  What is yours? When people litter.

Q is for Quote.  Share your favorite quote.  Do not go where the path might lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

R is for Right or Left? Are you a righty or lefty? Righty

S is for Siblings. Do you have any?  Yes, an older brother and sister.

T is for Treat. What do you have/do when you want to treat yourself?  Donuts

U is for Useless. Do you have a useless talent? I wouldn’t considered it completely useless, because it comes in handy with my little cousins, but I can move my eyebrows individually.

V is for Vacation.  What is the best vacation you have been on?  I went on Safari in Kenya and witnessed the Wildebeest migration; which is one of the seven natural wonders of the world.

W is for Work. What made you decide to apply for a position with the American Lung Association?  I wanted to learn more about the processes of policies, specifically within the urban health realm.

X is for X-Ray.  Have you ever had one? Why?  Yes, all are sports related injuries.  A couple for torn ligaments in my ankle, broken fingers, and hand.

Y is for Yummy.  What is the yummiest food you make?  I don’t cook that often, but I have almost perfected my mother’s spaghetti recipe.

Z is for Zodiac. What is your sign? Leo.
