The ABC’s of Regina Alcazar

We have yet another new member of our team! Meet our newest intern based out of our Los Angeles office, Regina Alcazar:

A is for Area Code: 818

B is for Breakfast. What did you have for breakfast today? Two mini blueberry muffins and applesauce.

C is for Calling. What do you consider your calling to be? Public service.

D is for Dogs. Do you have any? Yes I do! A German Shepherd/ Chow Chow mix named Mylo.

E is for Energy. What do you do when you need more energy? Munch on something. My last resort is coffee!

F is for Fun. What do you like to do for fun? Go to Disneyland, run, and most importantly, just RELAX!

G is for Greatest Accomplishment. What is yours? My greatest accomplishment has yet to be accomplished! My B.S. in Policy, Planning and Development at USC is only one year away.

H is for Hometown. Where are you from? Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands.

I is for Interesting: Name one interesting fact about yourself. In 2007 when I was 16, I danced in one of the largest pacific islander festivals, PIFA San Diego, with a Chamorran dance group called the Kutturan Chamorro Performers.

J is for Job Title. What is yours? Public Health and Tobacco Policy Intern.

K is for Kids. Do you have any? A 3 year old big boy, Gabriel 

L is for Learning. What have you learned working at the American Lung Association thus far? I have learned how to stuff envelopes with lightning speed, working for the greater good of the public is definitely in my future, communication is key to success, and a career you are not passionate about means absolutely nothing.

M is for Millions. What would you do if you had a million dollars? Invest in real estate and save! Maybe, pay off some student loans…

N is for Need. What is one thing you need or couldn’t live without? My baby, Gabriel!

O is for Occupation. What was your occupation before coming to the American Lung Association? Full-time student.

P is for Pet Peeve. What is yours? Not making eye contact when you are in the middle of a conversation!

R is for Right or Left? Are you a righty or a lefty? Righty.

S is for Siblings. Do you have any? My older brother, Reggie, and little sister, Jaclyn.

T is for Treat. What do you have/do when you want to treat yourself? Shaved ice from the Get Shaved Food Truck. Mmmmmmmm.

U is for Useless. Do you have a useless talent? None that I can think of!

V is for Vacation. What is the best vacation you have been on? So far, going to Panama this past Spring Break! We stayed in the rural area of Darien, and helped farm coffee and logging trees with the beautiful Embera people.

W is for Work. What made you decide to apply for a position with the American Lung Association? Interning with the American Lung Association appeared to be a tremendous experience to grow as a professional. Little did I know that the opportunity has allowed me to learn so much more than just answering phone calls and making copies.

X is for X-Ray. Have you ever had one? Why? Nope, never.

Y is for Yummy. What is the yummiest food you make? I make a mean bowl of cereal, HA!

Z is for Zodiac. What is your sign? Taurus.
